Brigid, one
of the most popular Celtic Goddesses is
a vast deity and can assist her devotees
with nearly any endeavor. She is
depicted here as the three sisters or
three of the many aspects of this
Goddess: Midwife -
healer/nurturer/herbalist, Blacksmith,
keeper of fire/craftswoman/transformer
and Poetess - bringer of wisdom,
guidance, prophecy. The three
who-are-one stand on a crescent-shaped
base. Symbols of her worship are hidden
throughout the piece - Brigid's
cross; the flaming arrow; Brigid's
bed; the bush near her sacred wells,
which are tied with prayers and wishes
on scraps of cloth, to mention a few.
Many of the names she is known by
encompass the base, even one written in
ogham.

the earlier Welsh that literally translates
as Great Queen Goddess. She rode a pale
white horse, carried the magical bag of
abundance, and the song of her three sacred
birds was so perfect it held power over life
and death. A prince who attempted to
overtake her rode for several days before
asking her to wait. Known for rewarding
those who ask for what they want, she
stopped immediately, saying "...and it would
have been better for your horse had you
asked long before this."

Odin Wall Hanging

- Odin" is known
as the Norse All-Father. He sits astride his
8-legged horse, Sleipnir, who carries souls to
the unseen realms. The spear named Gar, when
thrown, will always return. Through ritual
self-sacrifice, Odin discovered the Runes
while hanging from the Yggdrasill, or world
tree. A patron of warriors, he was skilled in
magic and a master of primal forces. Known as
the One-Eyed God, Odin sacrificed his eye to
gain wisdom from the fountain of Mimir.

World Tree Wall Hanging

The Norse World Tree or
Yggdrasil is depicted with Odin sacrificing
himself as an initiation into the Mysteries
as referenced in the Havamal. Above him
Ratatosk, the squirrel ferries insults
between Niddhogg the dragon, the force of
destruction in the tree's roots and the
Eagle who represents the hightest spiritual
light. The three Norns are seen as Past,
Present and Future as they constantly pour
healing waters on the tree's roots to heal
the damage of Niddhogg. Below them sits Hel
in the Underworld flanked by Asgard with its
Rainbow Bridge and Jotunheim with Mimir's
Head.

Morrigan Statue

"The Morrigan" is
depicted as a Bronze Age Celt. A triple Goddess,
her three aspects are know as: Neaim, Macha, and
Badb. She holds two spears and is known for being
indomitable in battle. A shape shifter, she would
often appear as a raven or hooded crow. As a
protector she empowers an individual to confront
challenges with great personal strength, even
against seemingly overwhelming odds. Roman
chroniclers reported that Celts went into battle
naked, exposing tattoos to summon their magical
forces.

Thor Statue

A Norse God, created
thunder by striking his great hammer Mjollnir. He
protected the house of the Gods and humankind. The
runes around the base are an invocation of Thor's
protection and depict a battle between Thor and Ior the World Serpent. An ox head was used as
bait, and the struggle became so intense that
Thor's feet crashed through the bottom of his boat
and he used the sea bed for support.
